Given the country’s diverse population, historical context, and regional dynamics, achieving peace in Ethiopia is a complex and multifaceted challenge. On the other hand, peace may be established if all sides spend adequate attention and think creatively outside the box. Africa has earned a negative reputation as a region of civil wars, coup d’états, lawlessness, dictatorships, and identity politics, and Ethiopia has contributed to this reputation.
The Centre for Governance and Intra-Africa Trade Studies (CGIATS) is a dedicated academic hub advancing research and policy solutions to foster effective governance and promote intra-African trade. By uniting African scholars and institutions, CGIATS champions sustainable development, economic integration, and the spirit of Pan-African unity.
